Yard Sale Heaven

How do you define a good Saturday? Over the last several weeks, my definition of a good Saturday has been hitting up at least one good pick, yard sale, barn sale or flea market to build up the vintage shop's inventory. Like anything in life, there are good days and bad days, good sales and bad sales, Saturday, however, proved itself to be a very successful day.

We arose Saturday morning well before the roosters started crowing for the sole purpose of being out the door and on the road to a barn sale in Pottstown, PA that I found advertised online the night before. The only thing we walked out of the sale with was a set of crab traps that Warren will be repurpusing as pendent lights for a project he's working on for his job (more on that fabulous project coming real soon!).  Their goods were priced too high for resale, but their selection was amazing. The couple who run the sale pick as a hobby and only open their sale every now and again. To say I was envious of their selection and lifestyle is putting it lightly.

I left the sale slightly bummed that we didn't find anything for my own shop, but within seconds of beginning the drive back home we came upon a flea market...then a yard sale...another yard sale...a church's rummage sale...and more and more yard sales and garage sales. We were yard sale free styling . . .  and Warren and I were in heaven!

My favorite pick from the day? This vintage Smith & Corona Galaxie II typewriter from the church's rummage sale. I've always wanted one for my own collection...

We took a break today, but we've got another barn sale and a flea market on the schedule tomorrow! What better way to spend a holiday? Have a great Memorial Day, everyone! F52XZGZDNR8S
